It's Confirmed: Get ready for Saif-Kareena's Happy Ending
Could we hope for a Happy Ending to this story at least? So far Saif and Kareena together on screen before or after marriage have spelt no magic at the boxoffice. They are coming together again now in Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's Happy Ending, though Kareena will feature only in a cameo.
Confirming this co-director Raj Nidimoru says Kareena won't appear for a song only. `Saif and Kareena have scenes together. And we're planning to shoot a song as well. `
While Raj is unwilling to reveal any more details we understand from sources that Kareena's role has been written into Happy Ending as an afterthought.
Says the source, `Saif who is the film's producer wanted Kareena to be part of the film when she visited Saif on location in Detroit. As luck would have it the co-director Raj and Krishna knew exactly where to fit Kareena into the plot. `
Interestingly Preity Zinta too has a cameo in Happy Ending while Ileana d'Cruz plays the female lead.
Raj says both Kareena and Preity's cameos are, `for the better. They both add something vital to the plot. `

EXPECTATION: 'Can you fall in love with someone you haven't met ?'
Surely, the tagline of UTV Motion Pictures, Dharma Productions, Dar Motion Pictures, Sikhya Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and NFDC’s 'The Lunchbox' hits the right chords of logical thinking & unreasonableness...After being successfully screened at 2013 Cannes Film Festival (later winning the 'Critics Week Viewers Choice Award') and 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, the film was largely expected to be good to watch..So lets find out, whether 'The Lunchbox' is a filmic delight or not !!
STORY: Set in the backdrop of Mumbai, the story aesthetically reflects a different dimension of love & hope !!
Ila (Nimrat Kaur) is a housewife with a daughter..She always craves the attention of her husband (Nakul Vaid), cooks delicious dishes for him & sends them in a lunchbox through dabbawala network..One day, by mistake that lunchbox gets misplaced into another office, in the table of Saajan Fernandes (Irrfan Khan)..Saajan is a widower & on the verge of retirement..Shaikh (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is about to take the official responsibility after him..Now, after realizing that the tiffin carrier got mixed up with another one, Ila sends a hand written note with the lunchbox the very next day, clarifying that the food was actually cooked for her husband...Saajan reads the letter & replies to the same..The letter-writing continues through the lunchbox, thus opens a new door of optimism for both Ila & Saajan...
Do they ever meet ? Is love independent of physical distance ? Do age differences really matter ?
Let all of these questions be answered inside the theater, in the silver screen, during those 104 minutes (Running time).
'LIKE's: Music by Max Richter is soulful..Sequences where a Bhutani song was played, in the train where 'Pardesi' song from 'Raja Hindusdtani' was used & Ila was listening to 'Mera Dil bhi kitna pagal hain' from 'Saajan' were extremely well fabricated..
Crisp Editing by John Lyons, nice Cinematography by Michael Simmonds, thoughtful dialogues written by Wasan Bala, Nimrat Kaur and Ritesh Batra are strong points of this film..Kudos to Ritesh Batra for his splendid direction..Acting by all the leading actors are extraordinary, with a special reference to Bharti Achrekar for her believable depiction as a voice character !!
'DISLIKE's: Slow pace & open-ended climax of the movie are it's negative sides..As the movie ends, a lady sitting in front of my row said, with slight irritation: "How the movie ends here, so abruptly ? Its not clear, what happened finally.." Had the climax been better written, the story would look more appreciable..
SCENIC DISCUSSION: Some scenes need a special mention, such as,
1) Where Shaikh was introduced to Fernandes for the first time: There, Shaikh (chattering type) was trying his best to start a conversation with almost untalkative type Fernandes..After asking so many questions like, "Will you miss the office after retirement?"/"Your colleagues will surely miss you"/ "how did you find working here for such a long time?" when Shaikh was looking literally perplexed about 'what to ask next', Fernandes replied in one word 'Fantastic'...The conversation obviously ended there..The way Irrfan put the expression in the scene with this one word is simply fascinating !!
2) While reading the letter written by Fernandes, Ila stopped for a while, where he wrote, "People tend to forget things, if they have no one to tell them to"...Ila looked at her daughter, sitting at another room & playing with her doll...She went to that room, asked her daughter to let her show how she used to play with dolls during her childhood..A small scene, with ordinary conversation, still, the moment upholds the sweetness required here..
3) During marriage ceremony of Shaikh, when the photographer was asking the brides's relatives (too many) to stand at one side & bridegroom's relatives (just one person) to stand at another side, there due to extreme disparity between numbers, the way camera had to shift the focus from central point to extremely right, that movement itself evoked a lot of laughter among the sudience..One of the hilarious scene of the movie !!
FINAL WORDS: Long back, in a women's magazine, I came across an interview of a psychologist..The topic was on marriage, where, at one point, she said, "Compliment your wife for any of her qualities...Be it her beauty/cooking skill/room decoration/office work or any of her ability.This one thing can increase her confidence much more than expensive face creams or cosmetics." Today, while watching this movie, I could very well relate to her words...'The Lunchbox' won't appeal to masala film lovers..But, will surely attract those, who love serious & meaningful movies...

Aditi hates the term item song?
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari is totally against the term "item song". She says she won't mind being a part of a "dance number" as long as it is graceful.
"I hate the word item song. For me, an item song is when a girl wears small clothes and looks sexy...I don't want to look cheap. For me, grace is important. So I don't think I will do item number. But yes, if it's a dance number, I would love to do it," Aditi said here.
The actress is busy promoting her forthcoming film "Boss", in which she has even donned a bikini. She says she is happy with the positive response to her look in the movie which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role.
"I was asked not to lose weight (for the movie), but I worked hard and toned my body. I wanted to go for a naturally feminine body. I did a lot of body exercise. I ate healthy, I am happy that people have liked it. I am happy that the feedback has been very positive," added the actress, earlier seen in movies like "Rockstar" and "London, Paris, New York".

Actress Kangana Ranaut always wanted to play characters with the qualities of a 'supergirl'. She says her dream has come true thanks to her roles in forthcoming movies like "Queen", "Revolver Rani" and "Krrish 3".
"I am already playing my dream role in 'Revolver Rani', 'Queen' and 'Krrish 3'. I always wanted to play a supergirl and I am getting to do that. So it's a dream come true," Kangana said during the cover photoshoot for Cine Blitz magazine.
While in "Revolver Rani", Kangana will be seen as a dacoit-cum-gangster, in "Krrish 3" she plays a negative character. In "Queen", she plays a simple Delhi girl.

John Abraham Is Keen On Producing A Commercial Entertainer
Actor John Abraham, who once stated that he won’t produced a regular Bollywood masala film, seems open to the idea now.
In his recent interview, John revealed that he is keen on producing a massy entertainer.
He said, “I would love to produce a big masala film, and I will make sure that you are genuinely entertained by it.”
John even believes that it’s actually good for an actor to do some hardcore commercial entertainer films.
“It’s important to be a part of commercial films and to entertain people. At the end of the day, people want to laugh and enjoy,” he told.
However, John assures that he will keep producing sensible films like ‘Vicky Donor’ and ‘Madras Cafe’. He also admits that even if he produces an out-and-out commercial film, it needs to have a string story line.
John’s production house’s next film is going to be ‘Hamara Bajaj’. The film featuring Ayushmann Khurrana will be directed by Shoojit Sircar.

Actress Deepika Padukone, who has been starring opposite Southern superstar Rajinikanth in her upcoming film ‘Kochadaiiyaan’, has impressed the film’s director and Rajini’s daughter Soundarya Ashwin with her passion and approach towards her work.
Apparently, the film has been shot using performance capture technology and Soundarya was amazed that Deepika finished her work in just two days.
Praising Deepika, Soundarya said, “She is a thorough professional and she worked with us to ensure we complete her filming portions in 48 hours.”
The director also added that Deepika was perfect to the tee in her work. “She gave flawless takes and had all of us impressed with her enthusiasm and drive,” she told.
Amusingly, Soundarya revealed that Deepika was really glad that she didn’t have to put on any make-up for her shoot.
“She was quite relieved to not be wearing make-up for a film for the first time in her career,” informed Soundarya.
‘Kochadaiiyaan’ is slated to release on December 12. The mega budget film is produced by Eros International.

Brett recently tweeted Shahrukh Khan about his desire of working with him and it was evident from his tweet that he is a huge admirer of the King Khan.
