I am not at all ashamed of being a Porn star: Sunny Leone

I am not at all ashamed of being a Porn star: Sunny Leone

(Here are notes from our interview with Sunny Leone)
AB: A lot has been happened to your career in Bollywood since we last spoke. How do you feel about the changes in your life and career?
Sunny Leone: This has been the most amazing transition that I could hope for. Being accepted and liked in another country is not something that happensall the time.

AB: How accepting has Bollywood been of you? Do you feel completely at home here?
Sunny Leone: Bollywood has been very accepting. I know there are people out there that don't like me but there are more people liking me so it doesn't bother me. I am very lucky that when I entered Bollywood I was coming with a fan-following already. And the Big Boss Season 5 show helped everyone else get to know me as a person. Moving to India from Hollywood was one of the easiest moves I have ever made. Effortless really.

AB: You performed an item song in Shootout At Wadala. How difficult was it for you to master all those filmy manoeuvres?
Sunny Leone: It was a challenge but I fortunately was working with one of the easiest choreographer Ahmed Khan and his team Karishma, Khalid and Bob. They made me feel so comfortable that is was able to relax and just dance. I was the child growing up that wanted to play football, hockey, basketball and so on, so this is a challenge for me to learn a whole new art. But something that I can promise anyone one I work with is that I am a fast learner and I work very very hard to get it right within the scope of my ability.

AB: You next project is Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS 2? How comfortable are you in the horror genre?
Sunny Leone: Honestly I loved working on this film. There is a lot of performance in this movie and a huge range of emotions and of course horror. I don't mind the idea of not looking pretty in every shot. To me this is my way of getting out of who I am and becoming someone completely different for the day. I'll be able to talk in more detail once the movie comes out.

AB: How much of the Indian film industry have you so far come to terms with?
Sunny Leone: I am not sure I fully understand this question. But I grew up in a typical Punjabi home and watched Hindi movies during my childhood. I understand Hindi and Punjabi and the Indian film industry is like every entertainment industry across the world. It all functions the same just in a different language. I have moved my whole world here and love this industry of Bollywood.

AB: Do you feel it's hard for an outsider like you to crack the Bollywood code?
Sunny Leone: I can't speak for someone else's experiences in life but for me because of my background and the fact that I have been in entertainment for 13years did give me the basic understandings of how things work. But also again I work very very hard and around the clock trying my hardest to learn everything that bollywood is. I'm not even sure if I have fully cracked the "code" but I have begun the process hopefully. It all depends on how my second, third and forth movie do. In all reality I have only made one movie that has been released to the world. It all depends on how the world accepts me in those movies to come.

AB: Have you left your days as an adult star behind? How do you look back on that experience?
Sunny Leone: Right now my whole focus is in Bollywood and nothing else. I believe I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime and I plan to keep my focus and energy here till the fans want me. If it wasn't for my past I would not be who I am. I am not ashamed of it because it has brought me here to India. If I came here as regular me with no entertainment experience then I would not be as popular as I am today with the public.

Review of Raanjhanaa A Distinctive Take On Love!

Review of Raanjhanaa (A Distinctive Take On Love!)
By: Dipashri Bardhan

PROEM: It was an intensely hued picture which showed a young boy standing with a fascinated glance in his eyes & a pretty girl portraying the semblance of cheerfulness amidst the vibrant colors of pink, green, yellow & red; thereby recreating the festival of Holi in a rectangular first look poster of the latest production from Eros International & Colour Yellow Pictures Ltd, in the cinematic name of 'Raanjhanaa' !!

Colors always attract the cone cells of our eyes. Also I felt curious about the movie after knowing that it belongs to romantic genre.'Love' is probably the only word in a Dictionary which neither can be explained in a sentence nor has any perfect synonyms.Today while watching this love story, I could virtually visualize that thought of Rose Franken: "Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly.." !!
Let me illustrate this journey of 'Raanjhanaa' in the following paragraphs !!

MOVIE: Shot in the blissful backdrop of Benaras & urbanity of Delhi, 'Raanjhanaa' narrates a tale of love through Kundan (Dhanush), Zoya (Sonam Kapoor) & Akram/Jasjeet (Abhay Deol)..Kundan (a Tamil Brahmin boy) & Zoya (a muslim girl) were brought up in Benaras, where Kundan expressed his love for Zoya during his teenage days..After growing up, Zoya took admission in Jawaharlal Nehru University where she fell in love with an university student cum socialist Akram..What happens next ? Is the amorousness of Zoya destined to Kundan or Akram ? How much pain can be endured for the sake of love ?

Let those questions be answered after watching the movie, in silver screen !!

'LIKE's:
1) Cinematography by N. Nataraja Subramanian and Vishal Sinha is astounding + Editing by Hemal Kothari & Choreography by Bosco-Caesar are impressive + Story/Screenplay by Himanshu Sharma is a bit different than an usual romantic drama + Dialogues are extremely witty at many sequences + Acting by the leading & supporting casts are marvelous + Set design by Tariq Umar Khan is befitting + Direction by Anand L. Rai is appreciable !!

2) MUSIC: A big applause to A.R.Rahman for such an wonderful soundtrack (well supported by Irshad Kamil’s catchy lyrics) & appropriate background score..For example,

a) When Kundan showed his anger on Zoya for the first time, there the synthesizer chords fluctuated in a bizarre way to create the effect of displeasure & it was done repeatedly with different chords to break the harmony, so that audience could better relate to the scene.

b) In a gloomy conversation between Kundan & Zoya, where Kundan suddenly felt the ray of hope, he turned up his head towards Zoya..In that split second, Rahman used the rhythm of 'Tabla' in a tricky way to express Kundan's expectation which struck the heart of viewers too !!

3) A SPECIAL MENTION TO :

a) That scene where Zoya was about to leave Benaras by train with teary eyes & Kundan ran to meet her, multiple water patches were shown in the rail station, as if rain just happened, thereby subconsciously magnified the mood of separation since rains are often attributed to a heavy heart..

b) MakeUp Artists for giving Sonam the minimal touch up, which amplified the innocence of a face rather than glamour..Beauty can either flashes the eyes of a beholder like a mid-day sun or soothes the same like a morning dewdrop..Since the latter better suits the character of Zoya, so the lipstick/blusher/eye-shadow even eyeliners were absolutely unnecessary here apart from the marriage scene, where a loud make up was needed & make up experts also did the right job there by painting the line of eye-liner a bit above the corner of eyes + stark red lipstick..

'DISLIKE's: Very few are there, for example;
1) In the song 'Tum Tak', the lip movements of Dhanush were not synchronous with the voice of the playback singer..Looked like, the song was coming from a mike & the actor was just singing on his own..

2) First half was too romantic & at times, the efforts of Kundan to please Zoya looked silly..In Second half, the focus were more on politics, thereby concentration of romance got diluted by leadership activities..

3) Both Dhanush & Sonam looked misfit in the role of school going teenagers + Opening sequence was dull + Too much slapping on Kundan's face by Zoya ultimately invited humor rather than sympathy..That profound scene where Akram's mother was about to touch Kundan's cheek for greeting, I heard some boys laughing crazily behind my seat & saying, "Stop..Stop..No more slapping" !!

MESSAGE: There is a lyrics from the musical 'Cinderella' which says: "Do I love you because you're beautiful, Or, are you beautiful because I love you ?" !! One can easily relate this line to those love struck eyes of Kundan which glitter more than the pole star even in the shadow of Zoya..Of late, Zoya fell in love with Akram, because she considered 'Kundan part' as a childlike crush + Akram fitted the bill as per educational & social qualification..From here, the dilemma of selecting a lover/partner arrives, accompanied by a dialogue where Kundan's friend Murari (M. Z. Ayyub) told him that girls are more likely to marry Doctors/Engineers rather than ordinary boys of the same locality, since the question of love comes secondary to their mind..Obviously material satisfaction plays a vital role in such decisions..But, if an abstract force (love) plays a guest appearance in the same scenario & makes one cherish that pleasure somewhat like this: "To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world", then should not one rise above the narrow parameters set by the society/religions ?

Once Tom Robbins said: “We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.." !! Life does not give us multiple chances..In this densely populated sphere of Earth, there is always a scarcity of those persons who can sacrifice his/her deepest desires to bring sunshine in the face of their loved ones..Don't let go that kind heart, if by chance you find him/her..

With the mellifluous touch of Shehnai, 'Raanjhanaa' sublimely delivered this tacit message in a pictorial way, making the film worth a watch !!

LAST WORDS: Along with showing the sparkling colors of a Holy city (Benaras), 'Raanjhanaa' tastefully painted a pale color too & thats the color of grey which often stays dormant in human minds and taints the negative aspects of an otherwise blameless person..Don't miss this film, if you believe in those lines of Loretta Young: "Love isn't something you find. Love is something that finds you..."

Absolutely Recommended !!

Actor-producer John Abraham's upcoming production has a quirky title - "Banana"! He says it is "a slice-of-life film", which traces the journey from adolescence to teenage, and he admits the project is special to him.

"'Banana' is a film about adolescence to teenage. It's about a young boy and how he deals with the new adventures in his life. It's a slice-of-life kind of a film and it is a very real film," John told reporters at the launch of music album "Pitol Soku" by rock band JOI here Thursday.

He believes the movie will appeal to all viewers from all age groups.

"I am sure the target audience of this film is from the youngsters to all the old people out there because everyone will reminisce what they've gone through. It's a very special film," added the 40-year-old.

"Sajid has got some amazing people for 'Banana.' I am sure they will be amazing," said John

Neetu dons a burqa while travelling in an auto

Neetu dons a burqa while travelling in an auto

Wearing a burqa to avoid being noticed is something several Bollywood actresses resort too at public places. Mallika Sherawat wears it at the airport to avoid any unwanted eyes at. Vidya Balan draped herself in one to gauge audience reations in theatres to The Dirty Picture. The latest addition is Neetu Chandra. Turns out the the actress' car has gone for repairs forcing her to frequently take rickshaws. Neetu used the flowing garment to conceal her identity while travelling in public. Phew!

Aditi Rao Hydari has got a list of people with whom she wants to work

She has done five Hindi films so far and showed her versatility. Now, Aditi Rao Hydari has got a list of people with whom she wants to work - Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor feature on her wish list.

`I actually have a list of people that I want to work with and I am working towards it,` Aditi told.

`I would like to work with Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor... It's a long list because there are so many beautiful actors playing such interesting roles and that makes this place more interesting for girls like me to come and work here,` she added.

The 26-year-old made her Bollywood debut with a small role in `Delhi 6`, but with `Yeh Saali Zindagi` and `London, Paris, New York` she graduated to big roles.

She also featured in Ranbir-starrer hit musical 'Rockstar' and her career seems to be moving in the right direction. Her next is 'Boss' with Akshay Kumar.

Talking about her choice of roles, she said: 'I want to work in an epic love story, a piece of literature that is made into a film as well as a dance film."

What about item songs?

'The fact they are called item numbers is a problem. Once you call it an item number, it immediately means something demeaning. It's a way of dance,' she added.

Citing example of Madhuri Dixit, she said when she dances, "it's not an item number. She is just dancing... if a dancer dances, it looks like an exciting dance number, but if someone who doesn't know how to dance is asked to do it, it's going to be an item number'.

'I think a dance track is a wonderful track. We Indians have dance and music in our blood and that is what makes our films what they are, they are fun and there is nothing wrong with them... I would love to dance in a film,' she added.

Amisha Patel has been displaying an exceptionally agreessive and defensive stance in her press interviews

Of late Amisha Patel has been displaying an exceptionally agreessive and defensive stance in her press interviews.

But what happened during a radio interview on Tuesday to promote her new film Shortcut Romeo left her co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh stumped and also caused considerable offense to Subhash Ghai.

During the course of the chat on radio, Amisha spoke about how she was ousted from Subhash Ghai's 2001 film Yaadein featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, due to filmy politics.

Amisha didn't stop there. She went on to express relief and happiness at her alleged ouster, considering how the film finally turned out.

The remark immediately triggered off a chain of offended sensibilities.

Says a member of the team that accompanied the actors, `When Amisha said this we were were all shocked. Neil didn't know where to look. His whole face went red.

Actors as a rule don't talk about the roles that they don't do, and that too in a gloating tone celebrating the said film's failure. Besides, if Amisha lost Yaadein to Kareena didn't Amisha replace Kareena in Kaho Na. . . Pyar Hai?'

As for Subhash Ghai he chose the path of a dignified silence, refusing to react to an acrimonious salvo that seems to have come 12 years too late.

'God bless you,' was all Ghai would say to Amisha.

Shahrukh Khan over reports that he and his wife were planning to have a baby boy through surrogacy

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Wednesday slammed Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan over reports that he and his wife were planning to have a baby boy through surrogacy.

"IMA strongly opposes any attempt or activity for pre-natal determination of sex of foetus, " the association said.

"We strongly feel that public figures like Shahrukh Khan, who are role models for the youth, should set a precedent by their good acts and refrain from such illegal activities, " it said.

"A proper investigation should be done in this regard. Suitable legal action should be initiated not only on the guilty medical professional, but also the public who approach the doctor for carrying out such a determination, " they said.

According to reports, Khan and his wife, who already have a son and daughter, were planning to have a baby boy through surrogacy.

Pre-natal sex determination is illegal in India. A provision for legal action and penalties exist in the PC-PNDT act both for the medical professional involved and public who request such an action.

Laws of Love: Newton's Laws of Motion (via 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan')

Laws of Love: Newton's Laws of Motion (via 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan')
By: Dipashri Bardhan

Almost all of us, watched 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'...The message of this movie can be described with 'Newton's Laws of Motion', which almost all of us read in school level physics...Let me explain !!

First Law: -

"If an object experiences no net force, then its velocity is constant: the object is either at rest (if its velocity is zero), or it moves in a straight line with constant speed"....In the movie, its shown that, Samar's life (object) almost came to a standstill (at rest), after his break-up with Meera... Afterwards, when Akira (net force) rekindled the lost love in Samar's heart through some incidents, he again started to relive (moving in a straight line with constant speed)...

Second Law:

"The acceleration of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force acting on the body, is in the direction of the net force, and is inversely proportional to the mass of the body"...Love always comes accompanied by ebullience + torment... Hope + Hopelessness... Light + darkness... Love gets fulfilled when its mutual (as seen in Samar-Meera).. But when its one-sided (in case of Akira), then despair automatically knocks at the door...But, if we truly love the very basic essence of 'life', then the 'momentum' of love can't be stopped...No other external force can impose a barrier to the acceleration of life if the wheel of vivacity is driven by the internal force called 'love'...

Third Law:

"When a first body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force on the first body"...In this film aka in 'reel life' it was shown that, Meera fell in love with Samar despite their huge socio-economical differences...In 'real-life' too, love can create wonders!! All of us, have our specific requirements / fantasies / expectations regarding our 'special person/lover'...If someone loves us & we don't find our individualistic requirements in that particular person, then we don't reciprocate to his/her feelings in the same way...But, if you truly love a person & decent enough in your approach towards him/her, then, there is a good probability that, your beloved ones will surely respect your attitude & appreciate you for what you are & afterwards, if the cupid strikes, then, this 'liking' can turn out to be 'love' as well...

P.S. This is a light take on the theory of Romance...Cannot guarantee about its practical implementation

What happened When warring John and Bebo Met

What happened When warring John and Bebo Met

What happened when Kareena Kapoor came across old foe John Abraham at a Bandra restaurant. They may have taken a dig at each other in public before but looks like John Abraham and Kareena Kapoor may have put their differences aside for now. Apparently the two came across each other at a Bandra restaurant on Wednesday night and exchanged warm pleasantries.

A source says, 'John was with Sanjay Gupta while Kareena was accompanying Saif. John and his director friend were there to discuss their next project together when Saifeena walked in and were seated at the next table. Saif noticed Gupta and came over to chat with the duo.'

A waiting Bebo too apparently came over to their table for a friendly hello. Onlookers say despite the initial awkwardness between Kareena and John, they allegedly spoke to each other for a couple of minutes. The two actors have had a history of sorts. Bebo had called John a 'wooden actor' and his then-girlfriend Bipasha Basu a kaali billi.

In return, John had referred to the actress as `inane people'. Since then, the two have stayed away from each other at public events. Even on the sets of Race 2, Bebo visited Saif quite a few times but apparently steered clear of John.

John confirms the meet-and greet with Kareena and states, 'It was very cordial.'

Poonam Pandey bares it all for new poster of 'Nasha'

Poonam Pandey bares it all for new poster of 'Nasha'

After creating enough buzz with it's first poster and trailer, Poonam Pandey is back with a provocative poster for debut film 'Nasha'

The actress has dared to bare it all as she stares away, clad in nothing except two strategically placed placards.

'Nasha' is the story of an 18-year-old boy who falls hopelessly in love with a 25-year-old woman. A woman he cannot have, but a woman he cannot help but desire. And, as is the case with desires unfulfilled, they turn into obsessions.

Yet, every obsession is a lesson learnt an experience gained. So that, in the course of coping with his unrequited love, the boy requites a lot more.

Both he and the woman come of age. Beyond mere years, in the truest sense of the word. A tale as much of longing as of losing, 'Nasha' is a story that transcends seasons and generations. Because we've all been there, done that. And shall continue to do so...

My Thoughts on 'Seductiveness' Vidya balan and Sunny leone

My Thoughts on 'Seductiveness' (through Two Bollywood Beauties) !!
By: Dipashri Bardhan

Preface:

“Style is a way to say who you are, without having to speak” ~Rachel Zoe

Being born and brought up in a ‘semi-conservative’ culture of India, I used to have certain ideas about beauty, sensuousness and fashion. Generally we try to define the beauty of a woman by her facial features / flawlessness in figure / the dress and accessories she wears. Typically Indian women used to wear sarees and salwar-suits, until the concept of globalization spread its branches in our country, resulting into an evolution of fashion sense. Bollywood also played an important role in defining the latest style. Gradually women became more experimental in trying decent as well as exposing clothes, most often after being inspired by their favorite heroines on silver screen!

Modulation:

“Beauty is a manifestation of secret natural laws, which otherwise would have been hidden from us forever...” ~ J. Goethe

My idea of sensuousness first got a major twist the moment I landed in Egypt, after discovering the Conservatism in women wear there. No, don’t get me wrong. Egyptian ladies are utmost fashion conscious. Leading fashion brands like ‘Zara’, ‘Escada’ or ‘Pepe Jeans’ are successfully ruling their business in Cairo (Capital city of Egypt). But, there is an adorable hypothesis about ‘how to wear particular clothes’ = whatever they wear, they never forget to wear ‘carina’ under their dress; (Carina covers the main areas of femininity) so that only their face and palms remain exposed. Now, they wear deep cut clothes above carina and become irresistible defining a new dimension of fashion. The reason is simple: The more you show less is the curiosity of others. The whole image of enigma arrives only after you know how to aesthetically hide your assets.

Let me clarify this with two contemporary contrasting beauties of Mumbai Stardom...

1) Sunny Leone. The Ultimate Seductress:

Even before the release of her Bollywood debut ‘Jism 2’, Sunny managed to captivate the attention with her extremely luscious presence and porn star background. As per Google (India) report, she topped the list of actresses in Google search, prior to release of ‘Jism 2’. The movie was a box office success, since the budget was US$ 1.3 million whereas the box office was US$ 6.4 million (3 weeks domestic). Also the film got good response in overseas market. Not to mention that, credit went to Sunny almost entirely, as most people rushed to theater to see her skin show and sleazy scenes. However, she failed miserably while displaying her acting skills. As per review reports, be it a steamy sex sequence or a general movie scene, she emoted with only one kind of expression everywhere. Nevertheless, Sunny still enviably holds the position of temptress and till date, her pictures get maximum number of ‘Like’s + ‘Share’s + ‘Comment’s in any Facebook page regarding movies.

But, that’s not all...Temptations come and go. Glamour world is never short of attractive girls. At the end the saying of Pablo Picasso matters the most: “It is your work in life that is the ultimate seduction...”.

2) Vidya Balan: An Aura of Dignified Beauty:

Let me take you down the memory lane. Do you remember that magnificent first look of a Bengali woman ‘Lalita’ that sums up = a big red ‘bindi’ + red ‘sindoor’ + a few hair strands falling both sides of her forehead + a decent smile glowing up her bright eyes + wearing a ghoonghat and then suddenly turning her head towards the camera? That was our first memory with Vidya in her Bollywood Debut ‘Parineeta’. The movie was declared Hit (Budget: Rs. 25 crore and Box Office: Rs. 32.35 crore), giving Vidya an overnight fame for her immense acting potential and elegance. Eventually she won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut in 2005 for the same film. Unfortunately the graph went down in the following years, for different reasons. One of them was her terrible fashion sense for which she was much criticized. Well, talent never goes in vain. After a few years, Vidya regained her position through ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Paa’, ‘Ishqiya’, ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and obviously two of her most recent films like ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani’.

Be it Cannes or in Lakme India Fashion Week, Vidya never stops to titillate our nerves by her exceptional choice of Sarees or Salwar-Suits. Draping a saree properly can set a distinguished style sense which fashion industry often tend to overlook. Don't forget, the same woman epitomized enviable voluptuousness in the role of Southern Sex Siren ‘Silk Smitha’ in ‘The Dirty Picture’. There lies the basic theme of sensuality with the capability of transforming one's self from lustiness to gracefulness, without much effort.

Windup: Once A. Stevenson said, “A beauty is a woman you notice. A charmer is one who notices you.” Think closely. What is more alluring? Sophistication or the lack of it! Though recently scientists discovered that the sense of beauty lies in the brain, not in the beholder's eyes, still won't you agree with Ninon de l’Enclos: “Beauty without grace is a hook without a bait.”

Well, it's a Question that answers itself.

Shah Rukh Khan voted India's most popular father:-

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, a doting dad of Aryan and Suhana, has been voted India's most popular father in a Father's Day poll conducted by a web site. He got more votes than megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has a daughter and a son.

The results of the poll, conducted among over 11,000 Indian women, were announced a day ahead of Father's Day on Sunday.

Shah Rukh received 34.83 percent votes while Amitabh was chosen by 31.58 percent of the women surveyed. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took the third spot with 18.61 percent.

"The poll showcases some of the most successful Indian men whose love and dedication also makes them popular fathers. This suggests that people are looking at celebrities as real people with real relationships," Gourav Rakshit, COO of the website said.

The poll also posed other questions to the respondents.

In the survey for the country's most popular father-daughter relationship, Big B took the top spot along with his daughter Shweta, who is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda.

Malaika Arora Khan's gadget freak

To be on par with her gadget-savvy family members, actress Malaika Arora Khan says that over the years she too has become a gadget freak.

She keeps herself abreast of new technologies, thanks to her actor-filmmaker husband Arbaaz Khan and other family members.

"Over the years, I have become quite a gadget freak. I have become quite knowledgeable about the gadgets," Malaika told reporters Thursday at the Taiwan Excellence campaign press meet here.

"I have to be a gadget freak because if I don't then everybody in my house will make fun of me and I will be treated like an outcast. I've to know what is happening in the world outside. So, I think I am pretty much gadget-savvy," added the actress known for hit songs like "Munni badnam".

She feels gadgets have "made life cool".

"Our lives are covered by gadgets, there is nothing we can do without gadgets. Gone are the days, when you would write a diary," she said.

Kavitta Verma likely to be shown in the forthcoming Bollywood movie Policegiri

A Mumbai community NGO Friday strongly objected to what it termed a "blasphemous" item number featuring starlet Kavitta Verma, likely to be shown in the forthcoming Bollywood movie "Policegiri".

The NGO, Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), has written to the movie producers and the Censor Board protesting the scantily-clad Kavitta allegedly performing the item number wearing a rosary with its cross positioned on her belly.

"The community is concerned. The rosary which she is shown wearing around her neck has its cross positioned on her belly ," CSF general secretary Joseph Dias told.

Terming this as "totally unacceptable," Dias pointed out that Christians respect the rosary which they use to intercede with Mary, the mother of Jesus, and reflect in prayer on the various stages in the life of Jesus Christ.

He said that the producer of the movie, T.P. Aggarwal, had assured them that the objectionable scenes would not be shown in the movie, due for release July 5.

However, Dias said that in case the producer still goes ahead and depicts the scene, the CSF would initiate criminal proceedings against the makers of the movie.

Dias further urged the Censor Board to ensure that the offensive scenes were deleted from the movie before giving it clearance for release.

Incidentally, "Policegiri" was among the handful of movies completed by incarcerated Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt before he went to jail to complete his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case last month.

Dias urged the producers and the government to take necessary steps to remove the promo pictures of the item number from the Internet as it hurts the religious sentiments of the entire Christian community globally.

Acting runs in her blood, but Tanishaa Mukerji's career couldn't take off in a big way

Acting runs in her blood, but Tanishaa Mukerji's career couldn't take off in a big way. But she is thankful to her mother Tanuja and sister Kajol, both actors, for `protecting` her and being her support system. She says her motto is to live up to her own expectations.

"My mom and my sister have taught me a lot as far as my career goes. They have supported me unconditionally. But more than that they have protected me and been a very strong stabilising force in my personal life," Tanishaa told in an interview.

A decade ago Tanishaa followed in footsteps of her star sister Kajol and entered Bollywood with horror thriller "Sssshhh..` Post that she featured in notable films like "Tango Charlie", "Sarkar" and "Neal N Nikki", but couldn't replicate her sister's success story.

"I believe that if your personal life is not strong, you can never succeed in your work," said the actress.

She has deep rooted film legacy. If her maternal grandmother Shobhna Samarth was one of the reigning queens of 1950s, her paternal grandfather Sashadar Mukherjee was the pioneer of Indian cinema. Her father Shomu Mukherjee made films like "Sangdil Sanam" and "Pathar Ke Insan".

Her illustrious family background raises a lot of expectations from her, she admited.

"My family background raises a lot of expectations. But I don't think like that...I have always been taught to walk my own path and not allow opinions and expectations guide you. And the only expectations I want to live up to are my own," she said.

She has stayed away from greasepaint and arclight for a while now and said it was because she was busy with the production of "Son of Sardaar", which starred her brother-in-law Ajay Devgn in the lead role.

She clarified she has "not disappeared from any scene".

"I am and will always be very much a part of the film industry. I have not been on camera in a while, however, I was working with production of for 'Son of Sardaar'. It was our second Rs.100 crore hit that year...and my first in production work," she added.

The actress has been a part of regional films as well and said that it was "a conscious decision" to branch off into so many domains.

"I love challenges. And acting in a language like Telugu or Tamil, which I am not familiar with, was so much fun because of how much I learned from it," said Tanishaa who has been seen in regional films like "Unnale Unnale", "Kantri" and "Mukti".

Now she has signed Akshay Kumar's Marathi production venture "Adhantari".

Ouch! Censor's scissors on 'Shortcut Romeo'

Ouch! Censor's scissors on 'Shortcut Romeo'

Filmmaker Susi Ganeshan's debut Hindi film 'Shortcut Romeo' has been awarded U/A-certificate by the censor board, which ran its scissors on the liplock scene between Neil Nitin Mukesh and Puja Gupta and reduced it 50 percent. Confirming this, Ganeshan said, "The film has got a U/A certificate with cuts. It is a very intense drama, which has a strong message in it. The liplock scene between Neil and Puja has been reduced to 50 percent. So, the kissing scene has been diluted as per request of the censor board."

"I think liplock is very common in Bollywood but in south it's like a big deal. I thought the kissing scene was necessary as it goes with the flow of the film," he added.

The director, who hails from South, started his career in 2002 with Tamil film 'Five Star' and later directed 'Virumbugiren', 'Thiruttu Payal' and 'Kanthaswamy'.

'Shortcut Romeo', his first Hindi movie, is a remake of his Tamil venture 'Thiruttu Payale' and the director assures he is "here to stay".

"I am not going to do just one film and go back to south. I am also producing 'Shortcut Romeo' and I want to try my hands in production and understand my business capability," said the director who has roped in Ameesha Patel in a negative role in 'Shortcut Romeo', slated for a June 21 release.

Deepika's hush-hush dinner with Ranveer

Deepika's hush-hush dinner with Ranveer

While Ranveer Singh took the front door, Deepika Padukone apparently snuck out from the back after their hush-hush dinner at a Bandra restaurant. While rumours have been rife in Bollywood about their secret romance since quite some time now, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have remained tight-lipped about it.

But that hasn't stopped the alleged couple from painting the town (even Dubai) red together. Last week, the couple apparently threw caution to the wind and visited a Bandra high-end restaurant to have a 'private dinner together'. But incidentally, they made separate exits to allegedly avoid getting 'caught' together.

From stolen glances over lunch to some impressive dancing skills in the Middle East and even undertaking secret trips across towns to see each other, buzz about their romance has been going strong for months now.

An onlooker says, 'Ranveer and Deepika were dressed in formal attire and seemed to enjoy their dinner together. But to escape the waiting media outside the restaurant's doors, they hatched a plan to exit separately without being noticed.' While Ranveer left the restaurant through the front door, Dippy apparently made a hasty exit through the back. From what we hear, the fellow diners were rather amused by the trick.

If 'Yes', then Ayan Mukerjis most recent offering 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is eagerly waiting for you..Bursting with youthful energy & boiling with contagious emotion, this drama is meant to spread the current of vivacity from the optic nerves to the cerebrospinal fluid, thereby invariably invigorating our fatigued desires...However, apart from the superficial liveliness, is there really any brilliance behind this high-budget flick? Continue reading below to know the answer !!

THE MOVIE: The story is all about friendship & love, shown through the main leads; Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor), Naina (Deepika Padukone), Aditi (Kalki Koechlin) & Avi (Aditya Roy Kapoor).Shot in the immaculate locations of Manali, Udaipur & Paris, the film primarily shows how the male & female leads affect each other's attitude, supported with a permutation of light/heavy emotions + peppy dance numbers & quirky dialogues !!

'UP's : All the lead characters, as well as supporting casts precisely stole the show.Cinematography (V.Manikandan) & Editing (S.Rahmathulla) were superb, whereas Music (Pritam) & Direction (Ayan Mukerji) conveniently delved deep into viewer's soul !!

'DOWN's : So many absurd scenes are there..For example: 1) In trekking, one needs to be physically fit & for physical fitness, regular workout is essential. As displayed here, the character of Naina is like a bookworm, who is not at all into gymming or such activites. Then how come she effortlessly climbs the difficult mountain peaks, when the so called audacious Bunny feels tired every now & then ?

2) Rajasthan is considered as one of the topmost conservative places in India. There, while visiting a royal palace as part of tourism, Naina wore a Salwar-Suit which revealed (more than half & her dupatta draped carelessly without doing the work it's supposed to do) prime parts of her femininity..Look at the background crowd & you cannot spot anyone wearing such a dangerous attire.Even the foreigners were shown wearing decent clothes (for in 'Lonely Planet India', it's always advised to dress properly while traveling in India)..Well, from a commercial cinema, such an odd scene is expected though..

3) The bespectacled Naina, all of a sudden wearing contact lenses, while celebrating Holi is another shock. There is plenty of arguments regarding the color quality used in Holi & since eye is a sensitive organ, therefore it's always wise not to wear lenses during such occasions..Naina despite being a doctor did the same..On top of that, when their clothes got multi-colored after playing, both the teeth of Naina & Bunny surprisingly remained 'close up white'...

4) The Bollywood pattern of equalizing a seductive girl with utmost silliness & a studious girl with weird spectacles is another defective custom, when in reality there are abundant instances of 'beauty with brain' as well as 'ravishing fashion sense with scholastic aptitude'...It's highly annoying when Bollywood still lacks behind in such territory..Equally irritating to see Naina still wearing the same (old designed) spectacle after a couple of years, when her dress sense changed significantly...
Not to blame Deepika anywhere, it's only the people behind camera whom I am referring to for all the blunders, mentioned above !!

SOME OBJECTIONS: Am afraid I may sound awful, but the way this movie portrayed the fundamental concept of 'To dream : Not to dream' & 'To love : Not to love', that's something really shaky !! Very similar to that already famous dialogue of Bunny ("Shaadi ke basic concept mein hi jhol hai"), the writer of this film (Moshin Khan) seemed to be over sensitive regarding the idea of 'want' & 'need', hence added unnecessary water (jhol) while cooking (writing the story) a simple dish (message).Let me clarify this in two points !!

1) Love:Marriage : The typical conception of viewing marriage as the only goal of love is dysfunctional. As shown in the first half of the movie, Bunny's character strongly believes in adventure & hates to lead a stereotype married life. But, within a few years (Second half), he suddenly realized 'what he really wants from life' & left behind his age old passion for the sake of love.Once Ayn Rand quoted, "To say ‘I love you’, one must first know how to say the ‘I’.The meaning of the ‘I’ is an independent entity..A person who exists only for the sake of his loved one is a spiritual parasite. The love of a parasite is worth nothing.”
The basic fulfillment of love exists in sharing happiness/sadness together + in cherishing every moment, irrespective of distance & age + in respecting the doctrine of 'space' & 'freedom' = which normally evaporates sooner than camphor when the same couple exchanges the wedding ring with each other. Then why to propagate the myth of 'being complete' via alliance, when the basement of such institution is unstable ?

2) Person:Passion : I can understand that, life becomes easy when one finds a like minded partner, but if there comes a point, where one has to choose between an explicit love (person) & implicit love (passion), then the deciding parameter obviously lies in the main focus of that particular person. Why love always has to be oriented toward a person ? It can very well directed towards a dream too, ain't it ? Love means the celebration of one's euphoria/something which one likes to do...Ultimately we all come & leave the earth alone. So why to cling on to a person to feel blessed ? That's why it looked so uncool when Bunny forgot his basic vision to tie the knot with Naina, because the script badly required him to do so, consequently leading to a cliched climax !!

INFERENCE: Thanks to all the hype, that ticket prices soared exorbitantly high for this particular cinema (Today it was Rs. 220 per head, whereas normally it stays Rs. 150 per head, in Delhi).I would suggest not to spend your money now in such shallow movies, unless you are a big fan of leading casts or believe in frivolous philosophy of love.'Yeh Jawaani Hai deewani' is a value for money if watched in a Television/DVD later on..
But keeping in mind the stupendous dance movements & some awesome moments (Especially that sequence when Aditi says that, "Love is meeting that particular person who makes you feel happy, when you otherwise think that you are content/okay with your life"), I would like to give it a 'Entertaining/Feel Good' status...
