WANT TO MARRY SONAM KAPOOR? HERE’S A VERY BAD NEW FOR YOU!

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor says men in her family, including her father Anil Kapoor, do not believe in marriage and are completely against it. “My father doesn’t believe in marriage, he thinks that it’s a very old-fashioned concept. The men in my family are completely against marriage. So whoever has to marry me has to go through like six brothers and a father, ” she told reporters here at the cover-launch of the latest Stardust issue, in which she is featured with actor Imran Khan.

Her reaction comes in the wake of recent reports that Anil Kapoor’s younger daughter Rhea was set to tie the knot her boyfriend Karan Boolani next month.

However, dismissing the reports, Sonam said her sister was still a “baby” and was not getting married any time soon. “In one month, she (Rhea) is starting another film and Karan is actually directing it, so I think people got confused between making a film and getting married. Fortunately for me my sister is not getting married, because I like her in the house, ” she said.

According to Sonam, Rhea will not marry for the next 5-6 years, as she is younger than her. Sonam also clarifies she won’t date anyone from the industry.

“I don’t like the idea of involving work and pleasure, ” she adds. There were rumours of Sonam dating director Punit Malhotra. Even though Sonam is looked upon as a fashionista, in her upcoming film she won’t be showing her glamorous side.

“There won’t be any fashionable side (in Yash Raj film’s next), because I am not going to play Sonam Kapoor onscreen. I am going to wear western clothes though. You are going to see me in modern clothes. I will be playing a banker so I will be seen in tailored clothes, jackets and shirts, ” she added.

The actress finds actor Imran Khan more fashionable than her father. “I dress my dad up. He is very good with the collars up, he’s very ‘Munna’ and he loves his suits and all…But Imran has his own quirky vibe going. Not because he is my friend, but I really think he is very fashionable, ” Sonam said.

She seemed quite excited about her yet another project — ‘Khubsoorat’, a remake version of 1980-hit film of Hrishikesh Mukherjee. “I haven’t played myself. I have been either a girl from Benaras or from the ’60s. I am excited to play myself.

It’s amazing to play somebody who is so warm and who is trying to change lives and in a way that it’s all happiness and sunshine. “She is a physiotherapist who goes into this house and tries to change people in a way.

This is a contemporary way of looking at ‘Khubsoorat’, ” she said. Sonam insisted that though the film is a remake, the story is not at all the same. An official remake of 1980 classic comedy is being produced by Sonam’s sister Rhea, and will be directed by Shashanka Ghosh of ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ fame.

Sonam would be reprising Rekha’s role while popular Bengali star Prosenjit Chatterjee is stepping into the shoes of legendary actor Ashok Kumar.

MOVE OVER NEETU! RANDEEP-ADITI ARE ALREADY DATING

It seems the former ‘Murder 3′ co-stars Randeep Hooda and Aditi Rao Hydari are the newest couple in Bollywood. It’s not been long that Randeep Hooda broke up with his long-term girlfriend Neetu Chandra. But looks like he has wasted no time in apparently moving ahead in his love life. According to insiders, the actor is currently dating his Murder 3 co-star Aditi Rao Hydari.

Sources say the two have been together and going steady since the past few months. A source says, ‘Randeep and Aditi met each other while shooting the film and eventually got to know each other.’

They started with chatting on the sets and gradually got comfortable in each other’s company. Buzz about a rift between Randeep and his next had been doing the rounds for a while. While initially both kept denying it, the actor recently admitted to being single.

Over the past five or six months the duo has apparently remained in touch. Although Randeep keeps travelling a lot for his various work commitments, Aditi and he are regularly talking to one another.

However, since they are still taking their own time to understand each other, they are not yet ready to speak about their special friendship,’ adds the source.

While Aditi too was reluctant to speak about her troubled marriage previously, only recently did she admit to having separated from her husband, Satyadeep Mishra. While Randeep said, ‘Not true’ to the buzz about his alleged romance, Aditi remained unavailable for comment.

I FAIL TO COMPREHEND THE NEED FOR SEPERATE TELANGANA: SHERLYN CHOPRA

Sherlyn Chopra who calls herself a Hyderabad girl is perturbed over the decision to split her homestate Andhra Pradesh to create a new Telangana state.

The starlet who has her say on everything under the sun says, ‘Our nation is already divided into bits and pieces. I fail to comprehend the need for the birth of Telangana. Are the people responsible for this segregation indeed of the people, for the people and by the people? The thousands of crores that are going to be spent on setting up Telangana as a new state could have been spent on the socio-economic growth of the former AP.’

HOW DARE YOU ANGREJJA: UK REJECTS SALMAN KHAN’S VISA

Insiders feel Salman’s pending court case could have affected his travel plans for his upcoming film ‘Kick’. While the shoot of his upcoming film is already underway in London, the film’s lead actor Salman Khan is yet to leave the Indian shores. According to insiders, the star’s visa has been rejected and no reason has been provided for it. Salman was supposed to start shooting his portions from last week onwards.

Those close to the star feel that the rejection may have something to do with his hit and run case pending against him in the court.

A source says, ‘Salman had appeared in court on July 24 but the final verdict was not taken. On July 19, the hearing was postponed and charges were framed against him on July 24.

The court then framed the charges and adjourned the case till August 19. The rules pertaining to securing a UK visa has become stringent these days. It has definitely affected Salman’s travel plans.’

An insider from the film’s unit says, ‘We can however reapply for the visa. We will wait till next week before restarting the procedure. Hopefully, by then he will get his visa and will be able to join the rest of the cast in London. There already has been a lot of delay in the shoot due to this.’

I NO LONGER STARVE MYSELF TO GET A HOT BOD: KAREENA KAPOOR

Meet the new foodie in town. Kareena Kapoor no longer believes in starving herself to get a hot bod. Instead, she is finding peace in gorging on rice and paneer. Sreya Basu chats up with the actress in Mumbai. While most actresses prefer to stay away from food, you seem to have turned into a foodie.
Yes. I enjoy eating. Simple Indian food can make you so happy and at the same time it can slim you down … it is something that I didn’t know.

How often do you eat rice?
I eat rice every day if not every alternate day because that’s a part of my diet. But all my close friends like Amu (Amrita Arora), Malaika (Arora Khan), my sister (Karisma Kapoor) and even my own manager (Poonam) refuse to eat rice because they are like `Oh! How can we eat rice? We can’t eat carbs, we can only have grilled chicken.’

And here I am gorging on my rice and dal and feeling that peace of being a true Indian, feeling belonging to my soil and sleeping well at night.

Like Saif (Ali Khan, husband) says: `Eat that which makes you happy from within.’ My dietician (Rujuta Diwekar) has not taught me to starve. She has made me a happy woman.

Aren’t you scared of gaining weight?
It’s a myth that eating rice will make you fat and bloated the next day. In fact, I feel light and slim after having rice.

And there is a scientific reason behind it. Rice has certain essential amino acids which people believe are only present in meat or other non-veg food.

And if you have a simple meal of dal and rice or khichdi and curry or pulao and raita, we get all the amino acids which we are looking for and at the end of the day we need a good balance of nutrients to really help us lose weight.

Is there a special diet plan when you are to shoot a dance number?
My dietician’s favourite recommendation for the night before such shoots is always either pulao and raita or curry and rice. And being a vegetarian I enjoy eating a lot of paneer. Earlier, say six-seven years ago, I wouldn’t like it at all. But today I find that even I am out on a dinner somewhere, the first thing I am ordering is something like palak paneer or matar paneer and eating the dish with two rotis or rice.

Is there another food that you used to dislike but now can’t do without?
I never used to like bananas earlier. But now I can’t do without it. After I wake up in the morning, I need to have a banana even before I take a sip at my coffee.

Even a banana milkshake can make me feel full … it is rich in iron, potassium … it’s great for my blood. I don’t have to spend Rs 1 lakh ordering berries just because that’s what everyone else is eating. Instead I spend Rs 2 on a banana and feel great.

What about having ghee?
Ghee is glamourous. I don’t know why people don’t eat that. For breakfast I always ask my cook to make aloo parathas and add a spoonfull of ghee to them. As of today, I can’t eat a paratha without ghee.

You must be wondering how I can eat aloo parathas for breakfast but then, they keep me full. Then, there are so many benefits of having ghee. I have suddenly started feeling it on my body, my skin and I know this is because that one spoon of ghee is entering my system every day.

Keeping in mind your present diet plans, how do you maintain your exercise regime when shooting or holidaying abroad?
The one thing that I like doing when I am out of India is a lot of outdoor walks. When I am back home, being a known face here, I can’t walk on the streets.
